1July 14th, 2017 - Back in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Shane Clanton was one 27 Super Late Models signed in at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) on Wednesday night for the $8,000 top prize. Following the second fastest time overall in qualifying behind Chris Madden, Clanton went on to place 2nd in his heat behind Chad Simpson locking him into the 3rd-starting position for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 5 finish, Shane slipped up two spots to place 5th behind Chris Madden, Brandon Sheppard, Chad Simpson, and Rick Eckert.

The following night with 33 Super Late Models on hand at Hibbing Raceway (Hibbing, Minnesota), Shane edged his way into the $8,000-to-win A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 13th for the feature, Clanton charged through the field nine spots reeling in a 4th place finish behind Brandon Sheppard, Chub Frank, and Mike Marlar with Tyler Erb coming in 5th.  

1Friday night brought 33 cars to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for the Acme Tools 50. After timing in third fastest overall, Clanton cruised to a 10-lap heat race victory positioning him on the pole for the feature. 1July 1st, 2017 - Shane Clanton returned with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on Wednesday night for the FVP Outlaw Clay Classic at Dirt Oval Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, Illinois). In a field of 26 Super Late Models, Clanton locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a runner-up finish behind Brandon Sheppard in his heat race. Slated to start 6th for the A-Main, severe weather started to roll in as the Late Model feature began to take the track forcing race officials to postpone the event to October 13th.

1With Mother Nature cancelling the opening night of clash between the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series and the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour on Friday at Terra Haute Action Track (Terra Haute, Indiana), Clanton returned to action on Saturday at Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri) for the $10,000 top prize. 1June 24th, 2017 - Back in the United States, Shane Clanton was one of 28 Super Late Models registered in for battle at McKean County Raceway (East Smethport, Pennsylvania) on Tuesday for the Hamlin Lake 50. Holding his spot in his heat race, Clanton recorded a 5th place finish locking him into the 14th-starting position for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned feature. Breaking into the Top 10, Shane Clanton advanced five spots in the 50-lapper reeling in a 9th place outing.

Returning to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Saturday after Thursday and Friday’s programs were axed by Mother Nature, Shane Clanton recorded a 9th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 3 out of the B-Main into the preliminary feature, Clanton edged his way with a 3rd place finish. Starting in 21st, Shane advanced through the field nine spots to place 12th.

1Later Saturday night for the 11th annual Firecracker 100, Shane came up one position short of a transfer spot in his heat race with a 4th place outing. 1June 3rd, 2017 - Shane Clanton picked back up with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on Friday night at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) for the Ray Varner 50. In a field of 21 cars, Clanton followed up the second fastest time overall behind Jimmy Owens with a heat race win. Earning the 2nd-starting position for the feature, Shane took over the lead on the opening lap and never let go, leading all 50 circuits en route to his sixth win of the season and a $10,000 payday. 1Saturday night took the team to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia) for the 3rd annual Billy Clanton Classic, which paid homage to Shane’s late father. Starting the night by setting fast time in qualifications, Clanton backed up his strong start by winning his heat race. The redraw for the 50-lap finale awarded him with the 3rd-starting spot for the 50-lap affair. He would race in the Top 5 throughout the finale before streaking under the checkered flag in the 4th position behind Brandon Sheppard, Tyler Erb, and Eric Wells.

Despite not getting the win, Clanton was all smiles after the feature was completed as he thought about his late father.

“It’s hard to be up here and him not being with me and he has been gone for a couple of years now,” said Clanton. “As long as we can live his life like we’re doing and just honor him as much as we can. He’s done a lot for the racing in the south east. It’s an honor to be here tonight.”

1May 27th, 2017 - On Friday night Shane Clanton opened the Memorial Day Weekend at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned event. In a field of 33 Super Late Models, Clanton followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race win. Starting in 7th for the feature, Shane had worked his way into the Top 5 until he suffered a flat tire on lap 30. After swapping out the flat and rejoining the field from the tail, Shane Clanton rallied back to a 7th place outing.

1Returning with the World of Outlaws on Saturday, Clanton headed to NAPA Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio) for the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Battling for the top spot in his heat race, Shane made contact with another car on the final lap dropping him back one spot to place 2nd. "We built a new Capital Race Car this week in two days, and it proved tonight how good we are," said Clanton, who credited his crew and a change to Penske Shocks for his performance. “Marshall [Green] and everybody at Capital Race Cars has been busting their tails to help us get back to Victory Lane. We’ve made some changes within our program as well the past few weeks and we are seeing immediate results.”

Clanton made the short trip to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia) on Saturday night to compete in the $4,000-to-win, ULTIMATE Southeast Series Super Late Model Series event. With 33 entries on hand, Shane earned the 3rd-starting spot for the feature event, and by lap 2 he had taken control of the lead. Once out front he drove away from the field to claim the victory by 8.734 seconds at the 3/8-mile oval. Zach Leonhardi, Casey Roberts, Michael Page, and Jason Welshan completed the Top-5 finishers.

1March 26th, 2017 - Behind the wheel of the Weldbank Energy #25 Super Late Model, Shane Clanton traveled to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Friday evening for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned contest. In a field of 45 cars, Clanton logged a 9th place finish in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 3, Shane fell short with a 4th place outing forcing him to use a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Starting in 23rd, Clanton held his spot for all 50-laps recording a 23rd place outing.

After persistent rain in the area cancelled Saturday’s WoO show at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), Shane headed to Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) on Sunday. Following the sixth fastest time in his qualifying group, Clanton locked his spot into the A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Timothy Culp. With $8,000 on the line, Shane slipped back to a 14th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

Receiving the 2nd-starting position for the feature after the redraw, Clanton jumped out into the lead on the drop of the green flag. Battling through dense fog in the early laps of the A-Main, Shane held the top spot until the lap 23 when race officials made the decision to end the race due to the limited vision. Scoring his first victory of the season and a $10,000 payday, Eric Wells, Tim McCreadie, Rick Eckert, and Brian Shirley completed the Top 5 finishers in the weather-shortened main event.

1Closing out the World of Outlaws DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday, Clanton secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win finale with a 2nd place finish in his heat race behind Dennis Erb Jr. With 40-laps to gain some ground, Shane dropped back to a 13th place outing. His performance on Saturday night was good enough to clinch the 46th annual DIRTcar Nationals championship.

Rolling off 19th for the $8,000-to-win opening night feature, Clanton ran into issues midway through the A-Main forcing him to make a quick trip into the pits. Battling back from the tail of the field, Shane logged a 20th place outing.

In a field of 38 cars, Clanton secured his way into the feature with a consolation victory after failing to lock his spot via qualifying.  Starting in 13th, Shane advanced seven spots into the opening night feature posting a 6th place finish.

The following night in a field of 39 Super Late Models, Shane timed in 5th fastest in his qualifying group putting him 10th on the starting rundown for the $5,000-to-win preliminary A-Main. Breaking into the Top 5, Clanton improved five spots in the 42-lapper registering a 5th place finish behind Tim McCreadie, Don O’Neal, Brandon Overton, and Dennis Erb Jr.

1October 15th, 2016 - Returning to the Super Late Model division, Shane Clanton invaded Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) on Friday night for the Deep Fried 75. Drawing 35 Super Late Models for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series sanctioned weekend, Clanton followed up the 2nd fastest time in his qualifying group with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Donald McIntosh. December 17th, 2015 - Making his way to a total of 65 events, Shane Clanton reeled in 15 wins during the 2015 season and his first career World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series points title. With the weather affecting 15 of his scheduled dates, Shane recorded a staggering 55 Top 10 finishes. He also finished the season with an impressive 47 Top 5 outings.
