April 12th, 2014 - Mother Nature intervened on Friday night and forced the cancellation of the $10,000-to-win World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series program at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee), shortly after time trials began.

The tour was able to resume action on Saturday evening with another $10,000-to-win race at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee), and it would prove to be another strong night for Shane. With twenty-four Super Late Models in the pit area Shane qualified fourth fastest in time trials before finishing second in his heat race to lock into the sixth starting spot for the feature event. In the 50 lap finale Shane survived several cautions at the high-banked oval to finish second behind race winner Mike Marlar.

April 10th, 2014 - The weekend kicked off early for Shane Clanton as he traveled to Tri-County Race Track (Brasstown, North Carolina) on Thursday night for a $4,000-to-win event with Ray Cook's Spring Nationals tour.

Thirty-two Super Late Model competitors converged on the oval, and with the top eight qualifiers locking into the main event, Clanton secured to fourth starting spot via his efforts. In the 40 lap feature, Shane advanced to a second place finish behind race winner Mike Marlar. Dale McDowell, Casey Roberts, and Michael Chilton rounded out the top five.

March 29th, 2014 - After a few weeks off, Shane returned to action with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series over the weekend. The team traveled to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) on Saturday after Friday night's program at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) was washed away by Mother Nature. (Ron Mitchell Photo)

Thirty-nine Super Late Models took part in the program, and after posting the fifth quickest time in his group during qualifying, Shane on to finish second in the heat. After drawing the third starting spot for the 50 lap main event, Clanton had moved into the second spot by lap five and took over the lead from Darrell Lanigan just two circuits later. As the field neared the halfway mark home state driver Billy Moyer took over the top spot on lap 19 as Clanton slipped back to third.

The Zebulon, Georgia ace survived several caution periods and one red flag to hold on for a solid third place finish behind race winner Billy Moyer and Darrell Lanigan.

March 8th, 2014 - The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) invaded Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) over the weekend.

Friday night's opener to the 'Tennessee Tipoff' boasted a $7,500 prize. Shane failed to make the transfer into the main event via heat race action, but was able to secure an eighteenth starting spot after winning his b-main. During the course of the 40 lap feature, Clanton worked his way up to a thirteenth place finish.

Saturday night's finale drew thirty-eight entries, all battling for the $12,500 top prize. Shane started deep in his preliminary heat race and missed the transfer into the main event, sending him to a b-main. Unfortunately, Clanton was not able to reach a transfer spot in the b-main as his night came to an early end.

March 1st, 2014 - Shane Clanton traveled to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama) this weekend for the 17th Annual Bama Bash sanctioned by the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL).

Thirty-eight drivers registered for the $17,017-to-win event during Friday night's preliminary action. Shane started third in his heat race and finished third, locking him into a 10th place starting spot for the main event.

Unfortunately, Shane retired his #25 Weldbank Energy/Capital Race Car/Clements Race Engine entry early on in the 75 lap feature, yielding him to a disappointing 22nd place finish.

February 22nd, 2014 - The 43rd Annual DIRTCar Nationals welcomed the World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series for action on Thursday night.

The main event boasted a $10,000 prize and forty-five entries were signed in for competition. Shane failed to make the transfer into the main event via heat race action, but a second place finish in the b-main locked him into a 19th place starting spot for the feature. During the course of the 50 lap feature, Clanton drove by nine other competitors en route to a tenth place finish.

The 43rd Annual DIRTCar Nationals came to a close on Saturday night; thirty-five competitors registered for the $10,000-to-win finale. In preliminary race action, Shane finished third in his heat, earning him a ninth place starting spot for the main event. Clanton slowly faded back over the course of the 50 lap feature before crossing the finish line in 18th.

February 19th, 2014 - Shane Clanton opened the Super Late Model portion of the UMP DIRTCar Nationals on Monday night at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.

Forty competitors were registered for the $7,000-to-win event, Shane set the fastest time in his group and went on to win his heat race, locking him into the third starting spot for the main event. During the course of the 30 lap feature, Clanton raced inside the top five before crossing the finish line in the fifth position.

Tuesday night was Round #2 of the week long DIRTCar Nationals, and Shane qualified second in his respective group. Clanton finished second in his heat race, earning him a seventh place starting spot in the $7,000-to-win feature event. Shane drove his way to a fourth place finish during the 30 lap feature behind race winner Kenny PettyJohn, Brady Smith, and Brandon Sheppard. Scott Bloomquist rounded out the top five.

Wednesday night's event saw forty-two competitors signed in for the $10,000-to-feature. Shane finished third in his heat race which locked him into a 12th place starting spot in the main event. During the course of the 40 lap feature, Clanton slowly faded back before eventually pulling off to save equipment, he was credited with a 24th place finish.

February 16th, 2014 - Shane Clanton kicked off the 2014 World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model season at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL on Friday night.

Shane posted the tenth quickest lap overall during time trials among the 27 entries and went on to finish fourth in his heat race, locking him into a tenth place starting spot for the $7,000-to-win main event. During the course of the 35-lap feature, Clanton drove by four competitors en route to a sixth place finish.

Round #2 of the Winter Nationals on Saturday night saw Shane qualify sixth among a modest 27 entrants and later go on to take the win in his heat race. Clanton stayed within the top five early on in the 50 lapper before disaster struck when he lost control of his #25 machine on lap 14, drawing a caution. Shane was able to continue from the tail of the field and drove his way back up to 14th place finish.

The WoO opening weekend came to a close on Sunday evening with the $12,000-to-win finale at Bubba Raceway Park. Shane qualified fourth in Group A during time trials, but late suffered some bad luck during his heat race when he broke a drive shaft. The Zebulon, Georgia driver was forced to take a provisional starting spot in the 60 lap feature event. During the course of the feature, Clanton roared from his 23rd starting spot, advancing 14 positions to a solid ninth place finish.

February 4th, 2014 - Shane Clanton is busily preparing to open the 2014 World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model season in his #25 Weldbank Energy/Capital Race Car/Clements Race Engine entry, and he wants your help in determining, which graphic's scheme to run.

During the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme in Tucson in early January Shane ran both a white car and a black car, and he wants to know which one the fans want to see most.  A poll is open for voting on his Facebook Fan Page at www.facebook.com/pages/Shane-Clanton/187551497449 so please visit the page and cast your vote.  The poll will close at the end of this week.

Shane recently opened his 2014 season in his #25 Weldbank Energy/Capital Race Car/Clements Race Engine Super Late Model during the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona). During the course of the six race series Clanton dialed in his new entries and enjoyed several strong outings with four top-ten-finishes and three top-five-finishes in six starts.
