Coming from the 6th-starting spot in his heat, Clanton stormed to a heat race win locking him into one of the two $1,500-to-features. Bringing home a Top 5 finish, Shane posted a 4th place finish behind Ricky Thornton Jr., Johnny Scott, and Austin Siebert with Travis Saurer coming in 5th. 1September 17th, 2016 - Piloting his Capital Race Cars #25 Super Late Model, Shane Clanton headed to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday for the three-day 13th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores. With 69 cars signed in, Clanton timed in 5th fastest in his group earning him the 6th-starting position for his heat. Improving four spots, Shane landed a runner-up finish behind Billy Moyer securing his spot into the opening night $7,000-to-win A-Main. Holding his position for entire distance of the 25-lapper, Shane Clanton posted a 4th place finish behind Billy Moyer, Brandon Sheppard, and Josh Richards with Jimmy Mars coming in 5th.

On Friday night after taking part in qualifying, Clanton made the decision to park it and prepare for Saturday night's A-Main since he had already locked his spot into the show.

Starting in 9th for the $40,000-to-win A-Main, Shane worked his way into the Top 5 in the 100-lapper notching a 4th place finish behind Mike Marlar, Scott Bloomquist, and Bobby Pierce with Billy Moyer coming in 5th.

1September 10th, 2016 - Competing in the 46th Annual World 100, Shane Clanton made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night for the UMP DIRTcar sanctioned weekend. Drawing a stout field of 108 Super Late Models, Clanton followed up the 7th fastest time overall in qualifying with a heat race win giving him the 7th-starting position one of two opening night qualifying features. Working his way into the Top 5, Shane improved two positions posting a 5th place finish behind Matt Miller, Shannon Babb, Dennis Erb Jr., and Billy Moyer.

1On Friday night for another round of qualifying features, Clanton started the night off again with a heat race win putting him 6th on the starting rundown for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. After taking the lead late in the race, Shane fell back to a runner-up finish behind Earl Pearson Jr. after a late-race caution with Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., and Steve Francis rounding out the Top 5 finishers.

1September 4th, 2016 - Running in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Labor Day Weekend, Shane Clanton headed to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Friday night for the Working Man Weekend. Timing in 6th fastest in his group of 16, Shane earned the 6th starting spot for the opening night 25-lap qualifying feature. Battling for a $2,500 payday, Shane worked his way up to a 4th place finish behind Josh Richards, Mike Norris, and Jimmy Mars with Tyler Erb coming in 5th.

On Saturday night with his position already locked into the $20,000-to-win A-Main, Shane rolled off 6th for the main event. Holding on to a Top 10 outing, Clanton registered a 9th place finish in the 75-lapper.

Closing out the three-day stint, Clanton headed to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) on Sunday for the 18th Annual Jeff’s Auto Body and Recycling Center Late Model National Open. Following the 4th fastest time in his group of 21, Shane charged to a heat race win giving him the 3rd-starting spot for the feature. Drawing 40 Super Late Models for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model sanctioned program, Clanton started the night off with a heat race win earning him the 8th-starting position for the feature. Working his way into the Top 5, Shane improved three positions posting a 5th place finish behind Eric Spangler, Nick Kurtz, Josh Richards, and Brandon Overton.

After the weather postponed Saturday night’s event, Shane returned to action on Sunday night for the $10,000 top prize. Registering a runner-up finish in his heat behind Rich Neiser, Clanton rolled off 7th for the main event. After timing in sixth quick in his group, Clanton registered a 3rd place finish in his heat earning him the 10th-starting spot for the feature event. With 50-laps to gain some ground, Shane Clanton improved seven spots landing a podium finish behind Josh Richards and Brandon Overton with Amanda Whaley and Jason Covert rounding out the Top 5.

The following night Shane headed to Potomac Speedway (Budds Creek, Maryland) for the Gunter’s Honey 50. In a field of 39 cars, Clanton posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Josh Richards putting him 6th on the starting rundown for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Moving up three positions, Shane Clanton notched a 3rd place finish behind Josh Richards and Jason Covert with Brandon Overton with Rick Eckert completing the Top 5 finishers.

1August 6th, 2016 - Making the trip north, Shane Clanton followed the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series to Shawano Speedway (Shawano, Wisconsin) on Tuesday night for the Sundrop Shootout. After timing in sixth fastest in a field of 28, Clanton cruised to a heat race victory giving him the 2nd-starting position for the feature alongside Jimmy Mars. 1On Thursday Clanton picked back up with the World of Outlaws traveling to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the three-day USA Nationals. Transferring the top three out of the heats, Shane recorded a 4th place outing transferring him into the B-Main. Storming to a 12-lap consolation win, Clanton earned the 21st-starting position for the opening night A-Main. After getting caught behind a wreck on lap 19, Shane Clanton worked his way up to a 13th place outing in the 30-lap main event.

After failing to make it out for qualifying due to mechanical issues, Shane stormed from the tail of the field to capture a heat race win. Earning the 9th-starting spot for the unsanctioned FALS Draw on Friday night, Clanton fell three positions in the 25-lapper posting a 12th place finish.

With his heat race win Friday, Shane rolled off the grid from the 5th-starting position for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned $27,000-to-win feature on Saturday night. Moving into a battle for the lead by lap 50, Clanton held on to a podium finish in the 100-lapper notching a 3rd place finish behind Josh Richards and Dennis Erb Jr. with Don O’Neal and Shannon Babb rounding out the Top 5.

Storming to a heat race win the second time around, Shane was slated to start 3rd for the $40,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday night. After falling out of the top ten, Clanton pulled off on lap 18 while being credited with a 33rd place finish.

Failing to hit a transfer spot in his B-Main, Clanton was granted a provisional into the $6,000-to-win feature. After posting the 5th fastest time in a stacked field of seventy-two cars, Clanton made contact with the wall on the first lap of his heat sending him into the B-Main. Coming from the last row of the consolation event, Shane advanced through the field thirteen spots to secure his spot into one of the opening nights A-Main's. Earning a 22nd place starting spot, Shane Clanton improved eight positions in the 25-lapper recording a 14th place outing.

After running into some troubles in his qualifying session on Friday night, Clanton had the car dialed in in his heat race gaining four positions to secure his spot into the 25-lap preliminary feature. Starting in 16th, Shane improved eight positions landing a 9th place finish.

For the final night of action at Saturday, Shane was slated to start 4th in his heat race. Transferring the top three into the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream, Clanton captured a runner-up finish behind Mike Marlar setting him up with a 12th place starting position for the feature. 1April 3rd, 2016 - Returning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Shane Clanton made the trek to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Saturday for the two-day Douglas Dodge Ram Trucks Illini 100. Competing in a field of forty-eight cars, Clanton scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Brandon Overton earning him a 12th place starting spot for the feature. Battling for a $6,000 payday in the opening night event, Shane improved six positions reeling in a 6th place finish.

Drawing thirty-three Super Late Models for the unsanctioned event, Clanton earned a 3rd place starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Improving one position in the 50-lap affair, Shane scored a runner-up finish behind Chris Madden with T.J. Reaid, Dale Thurman, and Jake Knowles rounding out the top five.

1February 20th, 2016 - Headed south, Shane Clanton made the trip to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Monday for the opening night of the UMP DIRTcar Nationals. Competing in a field of forty-six Super Late Models, Shane scored a heat race victory after timing in quickest in his group. Battling for a $7,000 payday in the feature, Clanton held his spot for all 30-laps recording a 4th place finish behind Billy Moyer Jr., Dennis Erb Jr., and Frank Heckenast Jr. with Jared Landers coming in 5th.

On Tuesday night in a field of fifty-one entries, Clanton earned a front row starting spot for his heat after timing in 2nd in his qualifying group. Leading the entire distance of his heat, Shane was slated to start 4th for the feature. With $7,000 on the line in the 30-lap A-Main, Shane Clanton registered a 7th place finish.

1Wrapping up the last three days of UMP DIRTcar Nationals, fifty-eight cars signed in on Thursday for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoO). Transferring the top three out of the heats and into the feature, Shane Clanton grabbed the last transfer spot. Starting in 14th, Shane gained four spots in the 50-lap feature notching a 10th place outing.

Starting in 3rd for his heat on Friday night, Shane Clanton transferred into the B-Main after running into trouble and pulling off early. Transferring the top two into the main event, Clanton fell back to a 4th place outing in his consolation event. Relying on a provisional to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Shane recorded a 29th place finish in the 50-lapper.

1For the final night of the DIRTcar Nationals, Shane was one of forty-nine World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models signed in on Saturday. Following the 6th fastest qualifying time in his group, Clanton cruised to a 10-lap heat race win. Earning a 5th place starting spot after the redraw, Clanton ran down race leader Josh Richards on lap 45. Holding off Scott Bloomquist’s last-lap charge, Shane Clanton captured his second victory of the 2016 season with Bloomquist, Richards, Brandon Overton, and Jonathan Davenport rounding out the top five.

1February 13th, 2016 - Making the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoO) debut, Shane Clanton headed to Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) on Friday night for the two-day Winter Freeze VI. Drawing forty-six Super Late Models, Shane earned a front row starting spot for his heat after timing in 2nd quick in his group. Cruising to a 10-lap heat race win, Clanton earned a 3rd row starting spot for the main event. Working his way to the front by lap 13, Shane Clanton made his move with a three-wide pass taking the lead with 27 laps remaining. With $8,000 on the line, Shane held on for his first victory of the 2016 season with Josh Richards, Brian Shirley, Brandon Overton, and Jason Covert rounding out the top five. Advancing seven spots in his heat, Shane earned the pole positon starting spot for the feature after scoring a heat race win. Trying to hold off red-hot Jonathan Davenport, Clanton fell two spots in the feature event scoring a podium finish behind Davenport and Darrell Lanigan with Billy Moyer Jr. and Billy Moyer rounding out the top five. 1On Friday night Shane Clanton held his pole position starting spot cruising to an 8-lap heat race win. Transferring into the $5,000-to-win feature with a 7th row starting spot, Clanton retired a 13th place outing in the 30-lap event.

Starting on the 3rd row for his heat on Saturday night, Shane Clanton registered an 8th place finish transferring him into the B-Main for one more shot at $5,000-to-win feature. Battling for consolation win, Clanton slid under Don Shaw on the final corner of the final lap, resulting in Shaw getting into Clanton’s rear and sending him over twice. With Clanton only bringing one car in Chase Junghans trailer, Shane’s weekend was over after the flip.

Shane Clanton made the trek to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) on Thursday night for the final event on the schedule for the World of Outlaw Late Model Series (WoO). Drawing eighty-six entries for the three-day Bad Boy Buggies World Finals, Clanton recorded the 6th fastest qualifying time in his group giving him a front row starting spot for his heat on Friday night. Battling in a stout field a drivers, Shane pulled off the 10-lap victory earning him a 3rd place starting spot for the feature event. With $12,000 on the line, Shane Clanton scored a runner-up spot to Brandon Sheppard with Chris Madden, Darrell Lanigan, and Josh Richards trailing them across the finish line. Friday night brought Shane Clanton to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for the two-day Coors Light Fall Classic. In a field of forty-five entries, Clanton recorded the fastest time in his qualifying group of twenty-two cars. Registering a runner-up up spot to Dennis Erb Jr. in his heat, Shane was slated to start on the 3rd row for the main event on Saturday night. Battling for the $15,000 to win A-Main, Shane Clanton got tangled up with another car on lap-28 sending him to the tail. Working his way back, Shane logged a 19th place outing in the 100-lapper.

Shane Clanton visited to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Friday night for the two-day Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100. With 66 Super Late Models signed in for the $20,000 to win unsanctioned event, Clanton ran into trouble early. Running into the wall during qualifying, Shane withdrew from the rest of the weekend’s events after the early contact.
