Action packed week with LOLMDS

Monday evening saw 27 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) enter the Truck Country 50 at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa). Jumping up one spot in his heat to place second behind Billy Moyer Jr., Shane Clanton locked into the sixth-starting position for the A-Main. With $10,000 on the line, Clanton fell two spots in the caution-plagued feature to register an eighth place outing. (Heath Lawson photos)

On Friday afternoon at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the NAPA Know How 50, Clanton recorded the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group before scoring a runner-up finish in his heat behind Kyle Strickler. Improving one spot in the 50-lap feature, Shane notched a fourth place finish behind Tyler Erb, Billy Moyer Jr., and Jonathan Davenport with Tyler Bruening coming in fifth.

The following night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the 28th annual Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, Shane secured his spot into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a third place finish in his heat race. Losing three spots in the 100-lap affair, Clanton logged a 13th place outing.

For the CMH Diamond Nationals on Sunday afternoon, Clanton followed up the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group with a second place finish in his heat behind Billy Moyer. With Mother Nature delaying the 50-lap feature until late in the evening, Shane advanced forward four spots to score a third place finish behind Chris Ferguson and Jonathan Davenport with Rick Eckert and Shanon Buckingham completing the Top-5 finishers.

Shane remains in eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
