Super Bowl of Racing brings Clanton to Golden Isles Speedway

Shane Clanton was back in action on Thursday evening at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) kicked off the 2022 slate with the Super Bowl of Racing. Drawing 47 Late Models, Clanton got collected with another competitor while battling for the lead in his heat that dropped him to the tail. Passing five cars in his B-Main but missing a transfer spot, Shane was granted a provisional into the opening night feature. With $10,000 on the line, Clanton gained six positions to finish 18th. The following night, Shane came in fourth in his heat before placing 10th in his B-Main. Improving four spots in the feature after taking a provisional, Clanton logged a 20th-place outing.

To wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Clanton laid down the fourth-fastest time in his group before placing second in his heat race. Starting the $15,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Shane brought out a caution on lap-44 that dropped him back to 19th when the checkered flag flew.
