Friday saw Shane Clanton enter his Skyline Motorsports No. 25 Late Model into action at to All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) for the rain-shortened Southbound Throwdown.

For the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series season opener, Clanton clicked off the second-quickest lap in qualifying before going on to pick up a heat race victory. For the $20,000-to-win feature, Clanton battled with the frontrunners before wrestling his way to the lead on lap 23. After leading 16 laps, Shane gave up the lead to eventual race-winner Ricky Thornton Jr. and had to settle for a second-place finish. He trailed RTJ while Mike Marlar, Tim McCreadie, and Devin Moran rounded out the Top-5.
