Clanton earns pole for 31st-running of the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
Shane Clanton unloaded his Super K Express No. 25 Capital Race Car at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon as over 80 Super Late Model drivers kicked off the 31st-annual Dream weekend at The Big E.
Starting off the week with the $20,000-to-win FloRacing show, Clanton charged from seventh-to-third in his heat to a earn a spot in the A-Main. Shane started 18th but was quickly off the track and finished 28th.
Shane was in Friday's $30,000 preliminary night where he grabbed the final transfer spot in his heat race and stormed through the field in the 50-lap feature to land a Top-10 finish in ninth.
Hitting the invert just right, Clanton started on the front-row of the final heat race on Saturday night and outran Max Blair and Garrett Alberson for the victory which earned him the pole position for the $100,000-to-win finale. Shane faded throughout the 100-lap main event and wound up just outside the Top-10 in 11th.
