Shane Clanton finishes fifth at All-Tech Raceway

Shane Clanton and the Skyline Motorsports team were one of 38 XR Super Series entries on hand at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Florida Dirt Nationals. With a third-place finish in his heat race placing him on the fifth row for the feature, Clanton improved two spots in the 40-lapper to finish seventh. (Heath Lawson photo)

On Saturday, Clanton’s fifth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the finale. Outrunning Ricky Thornton Jr. to pick up the 12-lap consolation victory, Shane locked into the 17th-starting position for the $50,000-to-win A-Main. Advancing through the field, Clanton passed 12 cars in the 50-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Strickler, Brandon Overton, and Ashton Winger to the checkers.
