Trio of Top-10s in Battle at the Border at Sharon Speedway
Heading North for World of Outlaws competition, Shane Clanton invaded Stateline Speedway (Stateline, N.Y.) for the $10,000-to-win New York Stateline Showdown with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.
With a stacked 42-car field on hand, Clanton earend a feture starting spot after nabbing the final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off from the eighth-row in the 40-lap main event, Shane made up two spots to finish 14th.
Making his way to Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) on Thursday evening for the Battle at the Border, Clanton earned a spot in the feature with a fourth-place finish in his heat race. For the $6,000-to-win main event, Shane made up four spots to finish in the Top-10.
For another $6,000-to-win show on Friday, Clanton qualified third-quickest and once again earned a feature position through his heat race. Rolling off 10th in the 25-lap main event, Shane fell back early but recovered to finish 10th.
In Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale, Shane made up one spot in his heat race to earn a fifth-row starting spot in the 60-lap main event. In the Battle at the Border, Clanton made a run for a podium spot early in the feature but faded late to record a ninth-place finish.
