Clanton ninth in Southern Showcase finale with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Swainsboro
Once again behind the wheel of Ryan Crane's No. 10 Capital Race Car, Shane Clanton checked into at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway on Friday for the first night of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series-sanctioned Southern Showcase.
Stopping the clock sixth-quickest in his qualifying group, Clanton won his last chance qualifier which placed him on the sixth-row for the $5,000-to-win feature. Shane ran just outside the Top-10 before pulling off with five laps remaining.
Picking up speed on Saturday, Shane qualified seventh-quickest in his group and made up two spots to finish runner-up in his heat race. Rolling off from the sixth-position with $20,000 up for grabs, Clanton recorded a Top-10 finish in ninth.
